K9 Basics Dog Training was launched in 2003 after his retirement from police work with an emphasis on pet dog training and making dogs’ lives better through training. tara brunkerTARA BRUNKER (Office Manager)

Tara was a client before joining the K9 Basics staff in early July 2007. She began as a client two years prior to training with her family dog Reba. As Tara pursued her Liberal Arts degree, she worked as an Office Manager in a vet clinic. Even after completing her degree, she knew her love for animals was too strong to leave the field completely. Coming on staff in July as Office Manager was a dream come true! Tara, too, is an animal lover with three dogs and one cat at home!

nicole finizioNICOLE FINIZIO (Trainer)

Nicole has always been an animal lover. After having K9 Basics train her dog Chloe, she began to thoroughly understand the training method that K9 Basics was using and realized that this is what she wanted to do. When Nicole was offer a position as training assistant, it was a perfect match. Now she is a full fledged trainer and claims there is no better feeling than seeing a dog succeed and a happy owner.

joe d'amicoJOE D'AMICO (Trainer)

Joe has had dogs pretty much his whole life. He never knew how much more a part of his life they could be until he became a client of K9 Basics. Once he moved through their program with Buster (an American Bulldog) and graduated, he was honored to come onboard as an Assistant Trainer. The knowledge he has learned and continues to learn is amazing. He loves working with all the clients and their dogs. Watching the transformations first hand as dogs move through this program is extremely rewarding. He leaves the training field every day with a smile on his face!

audraAUDRA GROSS (Trainer)

Audra has always been an animal lover. She sought help training Dakota (her American Bulldog) and became a K9 Basics client in August 2008. After graduating Dakota, she came on board with K9 Basics as an Assistant Trainer in August 2009. She loves coming to work and helping the clients and watching them grow that same bond she grew with Dakota and seeing the progress from beginning to end. She started volunteering with Lilo's Promise Animal rescue and helps train the dogs they are able to save from the over-crowding shelters, so they are able to find their forever homes.
